Up here in Canada you reminded me instantly of that disgusting scene where the entire House of Commons stood up and applauded a Nazi war criminal. Earlier I had joined the Conservative Party of Canada in an effort to bring about some badly needed housecleaning. But now? I'll never donate a dime to a politician, ever again: They're all the same. Throughout the length of history and whatever the country: They're all, the same... 🙄
I discovered that fact about 20 years ago. I had done what you did...joined the Conservative Party. Stephen Harper was elected and basically continued on in the steps of his predecessor with a few actions at the periphery to appease the base. No real change at all.

Treason seems kind of lacking. The overt duplicity of these treacherous, two-timing double-crossers is the definition of sedition.
Treason is more understandable word...
