Burn Notice operated as a sales pitch for recruiting people into INTEL. I liked the show a lot. The characters were done well. The scripts were fun if implausible at times. The city of Miami got a updated viewpoint on its drug and crime syndicates….not as good as Miami Vice on that point.

Campy and stylish, look how they marketed cars, Burn Notice holds up well as a 40-minute diversion TV show, even in 2024. One would love to re-launch this show with an edgier, less-friendly look a governments. and the nature of spy craft and relationships had in it.

Of course, that would never get the access or the funding to make it work.

It would take independent funding, great insights from people who did this for a living (who know what is going on at present, and are cynical and patriotic) and almost real life driven script. A huge production budget to hit all the spots on the globe from a more conventional locale - maybe Miami - but not Miami, actually.

Not easy. Not achievable without cutting corners.

Not Educated BUT Indoctrinated by GVT Mass Media Propaganda

Starting the early 2010s, a schism happened. At the root: where people get their “authoritative” news and how many were turned off by the tenor of the broadcasts.

In 2013, the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act was passed. Brought forth by a Texas Republican (Mac Thornberry), the bill allowed the domestic media to propagandize the U.S. population. The bill was incorporated into the NDAA - National Defense Authorization Act of 2013.

From 2013 forward, one sees the political movement to Democrats for college educated versus non-degreed people. Democrats have shifted their views with the billionaire owned media - as one has seen them racialize and sexualize topics. Create crisis out of thin reporting and make a mockery of the United States across its once well-respected institutions. And COVID and Trump were the billionaire-owned mass media topics of choice.

Below is a bit propagandistic, but not wrong overall.
