I live in an area where there are large plots of private timberland. Years ago a fire broke out and the owner of the timber property was told that he could not use his own equipment to make a firebreak. The logging equipment he owned would have been much more efficient at handling the work than to wait for officials to bring in their tankers and trucks. A D6 or D8 Cat can push over trees and brush and keep the fire from spreading. He jumped on his Cat and didn’t heed the warning from the officials who threatened him. You gotta take matters in your own hands at times. Even now, we are told that when the risk of fire is high on hot/dry summer days, our public utility district will turn off power to avoid fire. Most people are on wells run by, you guessed it, electricity. So they expect you to twiddle your thumbs and wait for help if a fire were to break out. You bet on hot/dry summer days I am running lots of water around my place so if they cut the power, we are safe if a wildfire occurs.

The overreach of government is beyond contempt....they hire idiots that HATE you because:

1) you are independent

2) you know more practical knowledge/wisdom

3) you can think - they can't

SO they do everything to undermine your independence, restrict wisdom, and punish you for thinking.

Keep fighting.

Jason, so much incompetence with hurricane Helene it is literally stunning! I don’t know if you caught these two videos of a helicopter pilot flying in to rescue a couple and the fact that government officials would rather let victims suffer and possibly die before they would cede control over a situation. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=si9kPy7IffU And here is the update. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s8ICG0iaHqw&t=769s&pp=2AGBBpACAQ%3D%3D
