My heart sank when I read your prediction. Just like Winston Churchill was flawed, he was the only one who could save his country and defeat oncoming tyranny.
The RNC is full of corruptocrats, but an independent run is an automatic loss. The RNC hated him the whole time but he persisted and his followers are going to continue fighting beside him. The anger of a stolen election motivates many, even independents to support Trump. Trump will pull in frustrated Dem votes when De Santos is still fairly unknown to many of them. Dems see the economy crashing under Biden and middle class liberals are suffering under his reckless leadership.
I thought about DJT doing an independent run but I think he would have to start this early, like now. The amount of push back by the party establishment(s) to prevent him from appearing on the ballot would high. It would require organizational skills I doubt he has....and of course, selecting people to run it (a skill he still doesn't have). I voted for the man twice......never in the primary. He did get me three good judges on the supremes. It one of the reason I would vote for him again.

Probability.
These federal charges will be broadcasted loudly, to taint any jury.
The court docket will be expedited to achieve whatever time frame to trap Trump.
RNC will do its best to hijack Trump too.
Trump could/should do an independent campaign. This election (if it occurs) will be CRAZY.
We shall see...
