Another Travesty: J6 Defendant Joe Biggs Gets 17 Years

The District of Columbia has a bevy of merciless and mendaciously-driven judges that hand down egregious sentences for actions that neither merited such length of time in jail (or prison), nor cognitively meet the basic requirements of actual great harm. When no one dies (at the hands of the defendant), no one lost their livelihood (in respect to the charges presented), no significant property damage was done (again, by the defendant) and there no priors to base sentencing enhancements on, then one should wonder (and it is obvious here) the motivation behind handing down 17 years in a Federal Prison.

Such is the case involving Joe Biggs.

From The Gateway Pundit, Alicia Rowe writes:

But the federal judge proceeded to throw the book at the decorated veteran who earned two purple hearts while serving in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, warning Biggs’ trespassing violation and shaking of a fence for a moment as Congres[s] secured Biden’s presidency warrants severe penalty.

This story has the sentencing hearing conversation attached. From Judge Kelly, this excerpt clarifies what irks this judge off:

Mr. Bigg[s], you did help pull down that fence. You were with the marching group at key points and others in that marching group ended up playing key roles at various breach points including your codefendant Dominic Pezzola.

You waved people in, you entered the Senate gallery and made comments afterward that justified and celebrated what happened.

I’ve read the letters in support of Biggs. I believe Biggs wants to be a good father and that he appreciates how he has comported himself in court and treated the proceedings with dignity.

I don’t necessarily agree with govt that his military training made him more dangerous. He weighs much of this in Biggs’ favor, he says, but he still has to weigh deterrence and the need for the public to know what happened on 1/6 should never happen again and cannot happen again…

17 years for a fence…and talking too much in a bragging manner.

Let it be known that Federal Judges routinely let top-tier white collar criminals wreck hundreds of lives, allow sexual deviants back out on the street in half the time given here, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: there was no insurrection! The intentionally lax security ALLOWED this to occur. And Biggs, in the heat of the moment, didn’t assault the capital with guns or flames, but with rhetoric and ham-fisted outrage.

Summary: Just another delusional sentencing judge with a hard-headed viewpoint on J6. Undoubtedly, not his first episode.

Result: Biggs will not get much leniency (or pardoning) until a changing of the guard at 1600 Pennsylvania.
