Glenfarne, Texas & the Hunter Legal Rolodex Dig & Santa Monica's Late Night Intrigue
Former Milbank Russian Lawyer? Or just some strange meet up on the Pier?
This will be more a pictorial post. But with the links again to prove there is something odd going on. Glenfarne Group is moving ahead with Texas LNG, supposedly: “the greenest LNG project in the world.”
Texas LNG is owned and operated by Glenfarne Energy Transition, which also appointed Latham & Watkins as Borrower’s counsel and Milbank as Lenders’ counsel for the issuance.
These lenders have been key supporters of Glenfarne, having led over $4 billion of financing to Glenfarne’s businesses over the last 10 years.
Glenfarne used Milbank in December 2016 to support its South American operations, buying up solar and wind projects:
Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. (SMBC) and Natixis in the acquisition financing of two backup power generating facilities in Chile that are attached to the national power grid.
The two projects are owned and operated by subsidiaries of Prime Energía SpA, which is a subsidiary of US-based industrial owner-operator Glenfarne Group, LLC. The deal closed on December 6, 2016.
This was overlooked by this writer.
The KEY BANK here is Natixis, a French investment bank, who along with Sumitomo Mitsui were used in July 2018 to finance EnfraGen Capital to the tune of $700 million.
Who is EnfraGen Capital? They were established in mid-November 2017 by Glenfarne. Less than two months later, CEFC assistant JiaQi Bao suggested directly to Hunter Biden that he should use Natixis (or HSBC) for LNG project financing tied to his $6M+ dollars received CEFC. She also suggested the two projects the Glenfarne owns in late October 2017!
What this shows is: CEFC had their relationship already well in place with X. Rick Niu in NYC and CEFC’s players (JiaQi, Meryvn, Kevin, Ye) ready to work alongside the Hunter Biden. But not without some other players, I have (hypothetically) discovered along the way.
Meet the Russian Lawyer: Edward V. Kayukov
Kayukov was a long ago email contact that works out of Los Angeles. At the time Edward met up with Hunter, Edward was at Milbank, specifically on ‘renewable’ energy projects. He is presently at Wilson Sonsini et.al.
Banco Santander, a very large Spanish bank, was also involved in Project Sun & with Transatlanticeg.com. Transatlantic later bought up Skybridge Capital where Anthony Scaramucci was tied in. Edward’s work at Milbank was lauded; and undoubtedly Hunter would not overlook a guy like that, would he? Especially based in LA?
This is where the hypothetical begins.
One cross-referenced Milbank with our Russian language expert (Edward is from Russia and studied in Moscow). His home is located nearby Hunter Biden’s whereabouts in December 2017. Marco Polo has uploaded pictures from the laptop with location identification. Hunter Biden was in Santa Monica on December 9th. He sent an email a little over 1 hour before taking 7 pictures at the circled location below.
This occurred 3 weeks after EnfraGen Capital was incorporated (November 17, 2017) - and just 1 day before Krieger Kim was contacted/left contacts about Patrick Ho’s arrest (of CEFC).
Edward Kayukov’s home (and legal office) is at 150 Ocean Park just .6 miles down the way from 1 Pico. Hunter later transferred $2,400 in 3 cash payments out of his Wells Fargo account. (He tried to pull $2,000 in one shot, but his limits on the card were set at $820.)
WSPIRU1218@gmail.com could be a code for the law firm + PIRU1218:
Either Wilson Sonsini or at Winston Strawn (2013-8)…because it turns out Edward V. Kayukov worked for both of them after Milbank.
His resume on LinkedIn has a hole in it where Winston should slot in.
But this seems to confirm freelance work (his Principle role after Milbank).
More importantly, his relationship with Wilson took place post the above meeting between Hunter and some man late at night.
Hunter later contacted “WSPIRU1218” in May 2018.
A phone number was sent by WS in January 2018…but it leads now to a gal that I do not think has anything to do with Hunter. It is 2024, and numbers change hands a lot, recycled by the phone companies.
Edward was pretty handy with his language abilities and work on geopolitics. He graduated from Stanford Law in 1996 where Sam Bankman-Fried’s parents were both teaching at the time. SBF donated $50,000 to the Joe Biden Victory Fund in 2020. Anthony Scaramucci was also deeply involved with SBF.
Edward supported Obama while at Milbank.
